Seattle Goodwill http://www.seattlegoodwill.org/ was founded over 85 years ago by a group of local business people who recognized a need for training and employment for those without job skills. Because of generous community support of donated items and monetary contributions, Goodwill successfully operates retail stores that generate jobs and provide funding sources that enable the organization to make available quality, effective employment training and basic education to individuals experiencing significant barriers to economic opportunity.
Jobs change lives and Goodwill believes in the potential of individuals to make positive changes in their lives. Education and training empower people to make those changes. Goodwill’s vision for the communities they serve is that each person is able to choose rewarding employment, financial security and the experience of educational achievement. Because of Goodwill’s work, people are building their futures, families are strengthened, and our communities are enriched.
Goodwill places value on individual potential, relevance as to employees changing needs and communities served, responsible stewardship, diversity, collaboration, respect and appreciation for all, teamwork and accountability. Daniels Development Company is proud to have Alan Cornell sit on the Goodwill Board of Directors since 1996.
