Operation Comeback

The Preservation Resource Center's Operation Comeback promotes the purchase and renovation of vacant historic properties. Started in 1987 as a focused effort to revitalize the Lower Garden District, OC expanded rapidly and now works with dozens of neighborhood associations and community development corporations citywide to revitalize New Orleans.

Every six months Kevin Daniels leads a team of architects, engineers, contractors and preservationists from Seattle to the Holy Cross neighborhood of the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans to work on preserving historic homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina.  He has worked with AIA Seattle, AWB Seattle, Historic Seattle and Washington Trust for Historic Properties as co-sponsors of the trips.
